Tanum Bokhandel

Tanum Bokhandel is one of Norway´s largest bookstore chains. When they introduced a comprehensive profile change in 1997 and established a formal language, the change was perceived as daring, exciting and innovative for an industry with long and conservative traditions. Seventeen years later, the profile is still very much alive and present in the urban landscape. Sven Skaara, designer of the bookstore brand in 1995, was once more engaged by Tanum in 2012, this time to tune the brand for a new decade.

The first major identity change was conducted in 1995, at that time perceived as innovative and very different in it´s category. Facelift of the visual identity and the shop interior design, as shown in the images above, was completed in the year 2012.
